Remedial Design and Pilot Testing, Costa Mesa, CA
Accord Engineering was retained by an oil refinery company to conduct a feasibility study and to prepare a remedial action plan for an active gas station site. The soil and groundwater was contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbon fuels. The following tasks were accomplished:
- Remedial design and reporting
- Field pilot testing
- Groundwater monitoring wells installation
- Data collection and evaluation
In order to minimize the impact to business operations, our engineer conducted a 48-hour dual-phase extraction pilot test using a truck-mounted extraction and thermal oxidation system. Three groundwater wells were installed as testing wells and future monitoring wells. The test was successfully completed. Testing data was evaluated and a conceptual level of remedial design was prepared in the remedial action plan.
